Obituary
Jeffrey Joe Smock, 62, of Ryan, Iowa, passed away on 11/28/2025 while surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Born on 06/23/1963 in Oelwein, Iowa, Jeff was a humble and servant hearted man.
He is survived by his children MaryAnn Chesmore, Jordon (Christina) Smock, and Derrick (Joanna) Klever, his brother Fred (Terri) Smock and sisters Lori Thompson, Judy Wyant, Jennie (Tim) Hewitt, Jan (Abe) Miller, Sandy (Rick) Henderson and Karen (Steve) Wood, sisters in law Meshell (James) Hawkins and Roxanne (Dwayne) Schiller and 12 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers Ernie (Delores), Samuel (Sharon), David “Mike” Smock, sister in law Sandi Smock, parents Francis and Dorcas Smock, and his wife Justine Smock.
Jeff Smock was proud of his work as an Animal Control Officer with the city of Manchester, Iowa. Throughout his life, Jeff was characterized by serving others, lots of laughter, constant tinkering, and worshipping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A celebration of life service will be held on December 5th at the Independence VFW from 1-3 pm.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A heartfelt thank you to all of those who impacted Jeff’s life.
